Kameron Brown
Kameron G. Brown, 19, of East 188th Street, was shot five times and is in critical condition at Fairview General Hospital.
The shooting happened in a parking lot at Riverside Estates in the 4600 block of Rocky River Drive on Cleveland's West Side.
Several detectives were working on a narcotics investigation when one of them, who was alone in an undercover car, was robbed at gunpoint after the suspect offered to sell him crack cocaine. The detective fired at Brown after being threatened with the gun, Lt. Thomas Stacho said.
Police and the city prosecutor will investigate the shooting and decide whether it was justified. The detective, a seven-year veteran, was not injured. He will be placed on a standard minimum leave of three days.
Brown will be charged with aggravated robbery. He was due in court next week on prior charges of aggravated robbery and receiving stolen proper
