According to the Westchester SPCA, police responded to a call of a cat thrown from an apartment window Thursday. They took the body as evidence and two days later, arrested Irvin and charged him with aggravated cruelty to animals.
When Irvin was asked why he did it, he allegedly told police he "hates cats."
A building employee told cops that when the cat landed, it took a couple of steps, keeled over and died.
According to SPCA Chief Ken Ross, the suspect told cops he became angry when the non-neutered male sprayed in the apartment as he was trying to clean up.
Irwin was arraigned Monday in Yonkers Court.
The charge of aggravated cruelty to animals is a felony and carries as much as two years in prison, if convicted.
