
Demetrius Donetello Maddox, 18 of 7 Kindros Cir in Greenville, was arrested last week by Greenville County Deputies and is being held in the Greenville County Detention Center on bonds totaling $100,000.00.
On Nov. 25th a 19-year-old was carjacked at gunpoint and kidnapped from a high school in Greenville ,deputies said. The stolen car and the victim were located in Greenwood County
Deputies said the victim, the 19 year old white male, was leaving Woodmont High School at 1:30 pm when he was confronted in the parking lot by a black male armed with a shotgun.
Deputies said the suspect forced the victim into the passenger seat of the car and the suspect drove the victim's vehicle away. After several minutes the suspect pulled over and forced the victim into the trunk of the car and drove for several hours.
The suspect drove into Greenwood County where he abandoned the vehicle at the CITGO gas station at 7604 N Highway 25, leaving the victim in the trunk of his own vehicle.
The suspect then allegedly kidnapped a second victim, a 17-year-old black male from Ware Shoals, stealing his car. The victim says he was forced into the passenger seat of the car by Maddox who was armed with a shotgun. The man said he was able to jump from the moving car and run to a nearby residence to call police.
The first victim was able to kick his way out of the car’s trunk and call 911.
Wednesday morning Greenville County Deputies located the vehicle stolen from Greenwood County and apprehended Maddox.
Greenville Sheriff’s Department has charged Maddox with armed robbery, kidnapping, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and carrying a weapon on school property.
Ware Shoals Police plan to serve warrants on Maddox for carjacking, kidnapping and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. According to the Ware Shoals Police, warrants will be served after Greenville County is finished charging Maddox.
