Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies helped capture a suspected murderer from Greenville Mississippi today. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, Street Crimes and Fugitive Bureaus, worked with the Mid-South Fugitive Task force and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Task force to make the arrest.
About one o’clock, Deputies and U.S. Marshals tracked Letarus Crawford, 32, of Greenville, to a southeast Memphis motel. Officers found him hiding him in a second story guest room at the Crown Inn at 4046 Lamar. Crawford, who was not armed, initially refused to come out of this room but later surrendered to SWAT Deputies.
Crawford was taken to the Shelby County Jail where he’ll be held for authorities in Greenville. U.S. Marshals say Crawford killed his ex-girlfriend during a domestic dispute last Saturday night.
